The Lily Pond Country Day School was founded in 1998. Since then, Lily Pond has brought its unique brand of early childhood education to Northern New Jersey.
Lily Pond’s creative approach to learning – along with our state-of-the-art facility, innovative programs, creative curriculum and exceptional staff – have provided countless children with a love of learning and a strong foundation that has benefitted them throughout their school years.
Lily Pond is owner-operated by Ed and Chris Imperiosi, and powered by an exceptional team of teachers and caregivers whose love for children and passion for education are unmatched.
Chris taught for 34 years in the Mahwah Public School District, developing and implementing the Communication Handicapped Class as well as teaching second, fourth and fifth grade during her tenure.
Chris has been featured for her outside the box teaching methods designed to keep her students engaged.
Chris states, “these are the most impressionable and formative years for a young child. The learning environment has to feel safe, secure and inviting to a child. When these elements are present the process of learning becomes an enjoyable activity. We encourage parents to visit us at anytime to experience how Lily Pond practices what it preaches.”
So feel free to call or stop by anytime and say hello to “Mrs. Chris”!
Ed is very passionate about education, having spent over thirty years in post-secondary education as a start-up and turn-around specialist.
Under Ed’s guidance, for nearly 20 years Lily Pond’s creative learning curriculum and engaging programs have infused children with a palpable excitement for learning and provided them a solid foundation for grade school.
Together with Chris and Lily Pond’s amazing staff, they ensure that Lily Pond remains at the forefront of preschool education across all of northern New Jersey.
The second critical component for the success of children in any school pivots on the stability of the faculty and teaching assistants. On average our teachers have been with us for over seven years. In addition to an excellent background in early childhood education, our teachers are required to participate in a minimum of ten hours of training to keep them informed and involved in the educational requirements mandated by the Department of Education.
We invite any parent who is interested in identifying a preschool that totally centers on the children to come visit us to get a sense of our culture. We love what we do and are thankful for every child that joins the Lily Pond family.
